Martin Rahmel, Managing Director Chemical Invention Factory,
Angelika Storm, Head of ESG Strategy, Global Operations, Qiagen,
Kristine Oevel, Sustainability Expert at the Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP),
Dominik Müller, Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine,
Stefanie Reichelt, Community Direktor at Carbon 13 (Moderation).
Key Topics
- Sustainable Innovations: How can life sciences drive positive change?
- Regulatory Landscape: Navigating evolving sustainability regulations.
- Risk Mitigation: Strategies to reduce costs and enhance value.
- Environmental Impact: Balancing growth with ecological responsibility.
Sustainability plays a crucial role in the life sciences industry, ensuring that we meet our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. Governments and international bodies are increasingly focusing on regulations related to sustainability, including carbon taxes, price controls, and responsible use of resources.
This panel will delve into the evolving landscape of sustainability in life sciences, exploring strategies for academic institutions, start-ups, biotech and pharmaceutical companies to navigate regulatory shifts while creating enduring value for society, the environment, and their own enterprises.
Followed by Get together and Networking over snacks and drinks.
When:
16 May 2024, 5pm
Where:
BerlinBioCube (Building D95), Campus Berlin-Buch, Robert-Rössle-Straße 10, 13125 Berlin
With the new event series "Talk im Cube", we want to bring business and science together on the Berlin-Buch campus and connect founders of start-ups or life science companies with scientists, e.g. from the Max Delbrück Center, FMP, Charité and BIH. We invite experts on business topics or trends in the life sciences and highlight every month aspects such as
- What innovations are there in the start-ups and who is driving them forward?
- How does the life science business world work and where can synergies with science be created?
- How does the "networked laboratory" work and how do you live "sustainability in the laboratory"?
In addition, at the beginning of each event, a biotech company from our campus will briefly introduce itself.
Target audience:
Founders & scientists from start-ups, small and medium-sized life science companies and scientific institutions
Costs:
Participation is free of charge. Registration is requested.
Other topics planned for this year:
- The journey of company... "Founder stories"
- Team 4.0 - Networked working in biotechnology
- Life Science Marketing: A potential way of scientist to promote their products
- CROs in diagnostics and therapeutics development
